About Gulf Coast Region

The Gulf Coast Region is one of only two regional organizations within ISRI. It encompasses the entire states of Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas as well as all of Mexico, excluding Baja.

GCR’s members include for-profit companies that process, broker, and consume all types of scrap materials, such as paper, ferrous and nonferrous metals, rubber, plastics, electronics, and glass. GCR also has member companies that provide equipment, technology, products, and services to the recycling industry.

GCR membership offers numerous benefits, including:

Networking

Opportunities to expand your contacts and grow your business through virtual and in-person events, including the popular GCR annual summer convention.

Advocacy

Access to state legislative/regulatory information in GCR member states as well as a seat at the table to influence the future success of the recycling industry.

Information

Direct access to recycling market intelligence and resources.

Training

Free and discounted programs—including safety training—for all of your employees.

Professional Development

Educational and leadership opportunities for the next recycling industry leaders in your company.

GCR is also proud to offer an annual scholarship program that provides funds to select children of employees at GCR member companies. In 2021, GCR awarded scholarships totaling $32,000 to 16 students pursuing academic, professional, or occupational degrees.
